A high school student charged with striking a Garden Grove Unified School District employee was expelled Tuesday from the district for the rest of the academic year. School board members voted unanimously to approve the recommendation made by the District Discipline Committee in September.
D In other actions, officials voted unanimously to approve an agreement with Canada Life Assurance Co. for life insurance coverage for eligible district employees. The council also voted to pay $449,000 to Key Mechanical Service Co. for the replacement of air-conditioning units at Barker Elementary, Bell Intermediate and the Chapman-Hettinga Education Center.
