Crespi’s Oller Commits to Loyola

Third baseman Jonathan Oller of Crespi High has committed to Loyola Marymount.
Oller batted .292 last season for the Celts after struggling with a back injury. He recovered to hit .511 with 43 runs batted in during Palomino ball last summer.
* Former Notre Dame outfielder Jon Horwitz has committed to UC Irvine.
Horwitz, a center fielder, is in his sophomore season at Glendale College.
BASKETBALL
* Oxnard College center Chris Massie has committed to Memphis for the 2001-2002 season.
“[Chris] is just glad to get it over with,” Oxnard Coach Ron McClurkin said. “The open style that Coach [John] Calipari uses is great and will be conducive to the way Chris plays.”
The 24-year-old, 6-foot-8 sophomore averaged 22 points and 15 rebounds last season for the Condors.
The early signing period is Nov. 8-15.
