ACLU Sues Scouts

Re “Suit Challenges Scouts’ Use of San Diego Land,” Aug. 29:
Why can’t the ACLU leave the Boy Scouts alone? Why only the Boy Scouts? For example, most churches regularly rent or lease municipal land for picnics, camps or whatever. Why doesn’t the ACLU go after them, since they largely disallow women and gay pastors?
Maybe that’ll be the ACLU’s next great service to our society. Hypocritically, the ACLU seems to be the one doing the discriminating now. What a bunch of bullies.

Ted Cox, chief executive officer of the Desert-Pacific Council of Boy Scouts of America, said, “I don’t understand why people can’t live and let live.” Is Cox trying for a merit badge in hypocrisy?
