Notre Dame 24, Lynwood 6--Miguel Armendariz rushed for two touchdowns and defensive back Louie Procopio returned a fumble 25 yards for a touchdown to spark the Knights at Notre Dame.
Notre Dame quarterback Phil Beckmann rushed for 114 yards in nine carries, including an 81-yard run to set up the game’s first score.
Beckmann, playing the first and third quarters, completed six of 13 passes for 74 yards. The Knights rushed for 238 yards.
Lynwood running back Lamar Myers rushed for 142 yards in 21 carries. He scored on an 80-yard run to cut Notre Dame’s lead to 17-6.
Lynwood managed only 178 total yards.
