The Planning Commission on Monday approved a request to add compact parking at Villa Sienna Apartments on Adams Avenue, but added several conditions involving trees and lights.
To make room for more parking spaces, mature eucalyptus trees that line the site must be removed.
According to the conditions of approval, any trees that no longer fit will be donated to the city. The property owner will also be responsible for substituting removed trees with twice as many 24-inch box trees planted in the north parking area.
Final carport designs and parking area lighting plans will also be submitted to the city for final approval.
