AOL Adds 1 Million Users in 6 Weeks:

AOL Time Warner Inc., the biggest Internet and media company, said its America Online Internet service now has more than 29 million customers worldwide. That indicates the New York-based company gained 1 million subscribers in about six weeks. AOL said March 8 that the service had more than 28 million customers, and Co-Chief Operating Officer Robert Pittman said the company’s businesses, from magazines such as People to Moviefone.com, were “doing great.” Separately, AOL Time Warner said it signed agreements with EBay Inc., the largest Internet auctioneer, and online travel service Travelocity.com Inc. Shares of AOL Time Warner rose $1.09 to close at $43.31 on the NYSE.
