Safety

As a student at Van Nuys High School, I do not always feel safe around the campus or walking home from school. There has recently been a bomb threat at our school, but I have seen no improvement in the security around the school. I am not only afraid of the bomb threats but of other students. There are many things that the administrators are unaware of, such as the problems of another student, that could lead to a violent ending. The solution is not tightening the security but to deal with the kids with issues to prevent a rampage before it ever happens.
The newly elected mayor should put school violence as one of his top priorities. Threats and violent acts at various other schools [are] making me wonder: Is my school really safe?
