Shelton Gives Chatsworth a Boost

Ashley Shelton converted a three-point play with 19 seconds left to lift Chatsworth High to a 49-46 West Valley League girls’ basketball victory Wednesday at El Camino Real.
The Chancellors (17-7, 7-2 in league play) stayed within striking distance of first-place Taft with one game left.
El Camino Real can force a three-way tie if it beats Taft on Friday.
Chatsworth took its first lead of the second half, 44-42, on a three-point basket by Britney Hamilton with 4:23 remaining.
Hamilton scored 18 points and Shelton had 14 for Chatsworth.
Aubree Smithey and Karen Shun each scored 14 points for the Conquistadores (14-6, 7-2).
