Dominik Hasek posted his second consecutive shutout and league-high eighth of the season to lead the Buffalo Sabres to a 1-0 victory over the New Jersey Devils Thursday night at East Rutherford, N.J.
An apparent game-tying goal by Devil defenseman Brian Rafalski on a 30-foot screen shot at the final buzzer was disallowed after a television review showed the puck crossed the goal line tenths of a second after the horn.
New York Islanders 4, Philadelphia 3--Roman Hamrlik scored with 17.9 seconds left in overtime as the Islanders completed a three-goal rally at Uniondale, N.Y., to end the Flyers’ five-game winning streak.
The Islanders controlled play after falling behind in the first period and handed the Flyers their second overtime loss this season.
Hamrlik took a pass in the slot from Tim Connolly to net the game-winner.
Ottawa 4, Florida 2--Alexei Yashin, Marian Hossa and Magnus Arvedson scored goals 8:26 apart in the third period to rally the Senators to a victory at Ottawa.
Toronto 4, Vancouver 1--Steve Thomas, Garry Valk, Mats Sundin and Igor Korolev scored at Toronto as the Maple Leafs ended a six-game winless streak.
