Suspicious Car Prompts West Wing Evacuation

A car parked on the White House driveway prompted authorities to partially evacuate the West Wing for about an hour as bomb experts checked for explosives. They found none.
President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney continued to work inside, though dozens of White House staff members and journalists were cleared out.
A Secret Service dog twice “reacted” to the car on the driveway facing Pennsylvania Avenue, said Press Secretary Ari Fleischer. After a check of the vehicle, authorities concluded that it was a false alarm, a Secret Service spokesman said.
