Quake Shakes Desert in Imperial County

A minor earthquake rattled the California desert along the Mexican border Saturday, but apparently caused no injuries or damage.
The magnitude 3.1 quake hit at 12:57 p.m. about eight miles south-southwest of Ocotillo, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The Imperial County Sheriff’s Department did not receive any reports of injuries or damage, a dispatcher said.
