‘Sopranos’ Tour Hits High Note in Jersey

A tour that visits nearly 20 sites featured in HBO’s popular mobster series, “The Sopranos,” is making a hit in New Jersey.
About 1,500 people have taken the four-hour tour, offered on Sundays, since it was launched in March, said Georgette Blau, owner of On Location Tours Inc.
The most popular stop, Blau said, is the Satin Dolls club in Lodi, which doubles as the Bada-Bing hangout of series paterfamilias Tony Soprano. (Strippers in the real club don’t take it all off--a no-no in New Jersey, she noted.) One location not on the route is Tony’s house in Caldwell (the exterior appears in the series), because neighbors objected to tourist traffic.
The tour leaves from Manhattan. Reservations are required. The cost is $30 per person, which includes a cannoli. Tel. (212) 935-0168, https://www.sceneontv.com.
The next project for Blau’s 2-year-old company is a “Sex and the City” tour, based on the HBO comedy series about singles in New York, which she hopes to begin next fall. “It will be an interactive tour,” she said.
