In the Empire League:
No. 5 El Dorado 8, Loara 2--Bryan Jackson and Joe Turgeon hit solo homers and Jeff Flaig scattered seven hits over six innings to improve to 4-0 for El Dorado (8-1, 2-0).
No. 10 Sonora 10, La Habra 3--Brett Smith (2-1) pitched five innings to earn the victory and he went four for four at the plate with two homers and four RBIs for the visiting Raiders (7-1, 2-0).
In the Garden Grove League:
Bolsa Grande 3, Santiago 2--Alex Guadarrama singled in winning run with one out in the seventh for the visiting Matadors (5-4, 1-0).
In the Orange League:
Savanna 5, Brea Olinda 4--Greg Speer doubled in Trevor Renck from first base with two out in the bottom of the seventh to win it for host Savanna (3-6, 2-0). Jonathan Tacket pitched 2 2/3 hitless innings in relief to earn the victory.
No. 7 Irvine 4, Laguna Hills 1--Derek Smith threw a three-hitter, striking out five, for Irvine (7-1, 3-0). Chad Hazlett had two RBIs for the host Vaqueros.
Brian Anderson homered for Laguna Hills (4-5, 2-2).
In the South Coast League:
El Toro 2, No. 3 San Clemente 1--The Chargers scored two runs in the third and held on to upset San Clemente. After a walk and a misplayed sacrifice bunt, El Toro scored on a ground out, followed by catcher Blake Gasca’s RBI single.
Tyler Powell escaped a bases-loaded jam in the fifth, starting an inning-ending double play, one of three on the day for El Toro (4-4, 1-1).
Mission Viejo 8, No. 8 Capistrano Valley 7 (8)--Shortstop Kyle Mura’s eighth inning walk-off home run, his second of the game, won it for the Diablos. Nick Dustin had three hits and an RBI for Mission Viejo (5-2-1, 1-0-1).
In the Sunset League:
No. 4 Esperanza 8, Marina 1--Rick Taloa had three hits and two RBIs and Matt Campbell pitched five innings, giving up one earned run and six hits with no walks, for visiting Esperanza (8-1, 2-0).
