Police Seek Molester Who Posed as a Tutor

Glendale police were searching Tuesday for a man who molested a 9-year-old girl last week after posing as a tutor to gain entry into her home.
The man was described as potbellied, between 30 and 40 years old, with salt-and-pepper hair and went by the last name Freeman, Glendale Police Sgt. Bruce Fox said.
On Nov. 11, the man called the victim at 9 a.m. and told her they had a tutoring appointment, officials said. Two hours later, he showed up at her home in the 3200 block of Fairesta Street and was let in by the girl. He then forced her to engage in sexual acts, Fox said.
The man could be responsible for another attack on a child in October 2000 in the same vicinity, he said.
“This is an example of why parents should encourage their children never to disclose when they are home alone and also not to open the door to strangers,” Fox said.
