A Foretaste of, Like, Really Good Writing?

In “Wallace Will Be Big Name on Campus” (Sept. 24), [author and newly named Pomona College creative writing professor] David Foster Wallace explained: “This is what happens at these really good little schools: non-neurotic, laid-back niceness, combined with everyone being really sharp, smart and interested in stuff. It was just a really nice vibe.... It really seems like a rare place.”
Wallace used “really” four times in 38 words. He’s, like, a really good wordsmith.
