Fond Memories of N.Y.’s Twin Towers
I was uplifted reading “The Man Who Conquered the Towers” (Sept. 24) about Philippe Petit, the French funambulist, who many years ago secretly rigged a tightrope cable between the twin towers of the World Trade Center, and then delighted citizens of New York and the world as he performed the world’s highest wire walk.
We Americans should let our spirits soar alongside Petit, who now lives in this country. Tragically, the buildings are gone, but Petit still dances in his heart between them, 1,350 feet high!
