Foothill Beats San Clemente

Alex Cripe scored three of his five goals in the fourth quarter to help Santa Ana Foothill defeat San Clemente, 8-6, in a nonleague water polo game Friday at Lake Forest El Toro High.
San Clemente, No. 6 in The Times’ rankings, traded goals with No. 7 Foothill for most of the game, coming within a goal of tying the score at the end of the third quarter. However, Cripe’s goal from two meters, early in the fourth quarter, gave the Knights (10-5) the lead for good.
Ian Elliott had nine saves for Foothill (11-6). San Clemente is 9-6.
Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 17, Culver City 9--Brendan Everman had six goals for Notre Dame (7-4) in a nonleague game at Valley College. Danny Feig and Manooch Shamaeh each scored three goals for Notre Dame.
In girls’ tennis:
Huntington Beach Edison 15, Fountain Valley Los Amigos 3--Jessica Boyer swept her singles sets without losing a game to lead the Chargers (12-6) in a nonleague match at Edison High.
North Hollywood Campbell Hall 17, Santa Monica Crossroads 1--Cheyenne Reveche, Ally Krasnopolsky and Daron Moore each won their three singles sets, 6-0, for Campbell Hall (12-1, 3-0) in a Delphic League match at Valley College. Campbell Hall has won eight in a row.
In girls’ volleyball:
Palos Verdes Peninsula d. Santa Monica, 16-14, 15-4, 12-15, 15-5--Junior outside hitter Kathleen Hawley had 18 digs and nine kills to lead visiting Peninsula (16-2, 7-1) in the Bay League.
Lake Forest El Toro d. Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley, 4-15, 15-7, 15-3, 15-9--Heather Quinn had 13 kills and seven blocks for host El Toro (11-2, 3-1) in a South Coast League match. Janelle Migeot had 15 kills for Capistrano Valley (8-2, 2-2).
