Airport Panel Agrees to Buy 28 Properties

The city’s Airport Commission voted Tuesday to follow through on its agreement to purchase 28 properties in Manchester Square for $15.5 million.
The commission had deferred the acquisitions after last month’s terrorist attacks, prompting concern among residents that the city agency that operates Los Angeles International Airport would back out of a voluntary buyout program in the area. The commission said it put the program on hold to reexamine its financial commitments.
