Suspects in Slaying of Hunters Are Seized

A father and son from New Mexico suspected of killing two Utah hunters and then shooting at police during a chase were caught after a two-day search.
Lewis Heffelfinger, 53, and his son Michael Heffelfinger, 23, both of Albuquerque, were found hiding in a small railroad pumphouse in the Price area, southwest of Salt Lake City, near U.S. 6. They gave up without a fight.
They are being held in the Carbon County Jail pending charges of attempted homicide on a peace officer and felony evasion.
