Barbeques Galore Sees Earnings Decline 37%

Barbeques Galore Ltd., an Irvine chain of specialty retail stores, said its net income for the second fiscal quarter fell 37% to $991,000, or 23 cents a share, from $1.6 million, or 33 cents a share, a year ago.
Sales rose 2% to $46.7 million. The company attributed the earnings slump to “the difficult economic environment,” in which consumers opted for less expensive merchandise.
