IBM Corp. will add software and training to the lineup of products it sells on EBay Inc.’s Web site after seeing greater-than-expected sales of personal computers and servers.
San Jose-based EBay will also use IBM’s WebSphere electronic-commerce software to upgrade its Web site, IBM said. The companies will have links on each other’s Web sites. Terms weren’t disclosed.
“We’ve seen dramatic growth in the volume” of personal computer and small-server sales on EBay, said Lou D’Ambrosio, IBM Software’s vice president for sales and marketing.
Shares of Armonk, N.Y.-based IBM fell $1.14 to $100.35 on the New York Stock Exchange and EBay rose 20 cents to $54.65 on Nasdaq.
