The Holy Cross Middle Eastern Festival, scheduled for this weekend, has been postponed, organizers said.
The annual event by Holy Cross Melkite-Greek Catholic Church celebrates members’ Middle Eastern heritage with a two-day festival on the church grounds. It may be rescheduled in the spring, spokeswoman Nawal Hijazin said.
“The timing just wasn’t right. It was just too soon,” she said, referring to the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Virginia.
Most of the church’s members are first- or second-generation Americans from Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon or Israel, she said.
