SITUATION: The MetroStars tied Game 1, 1-1, and won Game 2, 4-1, and need only a tie today to clinch the series. To advance, the Galaxy must win Game 3 in regulation or overtime, then win the 20-minute sudden-death tiebreaker that follows. If sudden death is scoreless, penalty kicks will decide which team advances to the semifinals.
