Boy, 10, Shot to Death; Police Blame Gangs

A 10-year-old boy died Thursday after he was hit by gunfire in a gang-related shooting in a park south of downtown, police said. A 40-year-old man was injured.
The attack outside the Trinity Recreation Center on East 25th Street was reported about 7:40 p.m., said LAPD Sgt. Terry Barclay.
An argument between two gangs led members to return to the park and open fire on rivals.
The gunmen missed their targets, who fled, but struck the boy in the park and the older man as he stood near his home across the street. The boy was shot in the upper body; the man in the arm.
