Volunteers Needed to Teach Adults to Read

The Ventura County Library system’s adult literacy program is seeking volunteers countywide to help adults with reading.
Volunteers are needed to tutor adults on waiting lists in Ventura, Oxnard, Camarillo, Simi Valley and Moorpark. Prospective volunteers are required to complete a three-session training course. Each session is three hours. The coursework and materials are free. Tutors must work three hours a week.
Training sessions will be held at the following locations:
Camarillo Library, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. March 2 and March 9.
Foster Library, Ventura, 6 to 9 p.m. on March 12, March 19, March 26, May 14, May 21 and May 28.
Simi Valley Library, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on April 11, April 18 and April 25.
