4 Sought in Beating of Man in Mall Parking Lot

Police were searching Wednesday for four males who beat a local man with baseball bats in the parking lot of the Centerpoint Mall.
Gabriel Lopez, whose age and residence were not released, was attacked Monday night as he walked toward the mall after parking his car, authorities said.
The four males--two armed with baseball bats--approached and asked Lopez where he was from, authorities said. They then began beating him while making references to a local street gang, then fled in a white Honda Accord or Nissan Altima.
Lopez was taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center for treatment of cuts to his head and injuries to his left leg and back.
