Tribune Agrees to Buy Osbourne Talk Show

Tribune Co.’s broadcasting division agreed to buy pop icon Sharon Osbourne’s syndicated talk show for all of its owned-and-operated stations. The Tribune stations cover 40% of the U.S. Tribune also owns the Los Angeles Times.
The series, to be produced by Telepictures Productions and distributed by Warner Bros., will feature guest interviews by Osbourne, who gained a following with her family’s MTV reality show. It is scheduled for a fall launch.
Separately, NBC’s stations agreed to buy “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” another talk-oriented program planned to launch in the fall.
