BOYS’ BASKETBALL
Deaven Washington, Oxnard Pacifica: Made a layup with six seconds left to give Pacifica a 69-67 Pacific View League victory over visiting Oxnard Hueneme. Washington had 24 points and 14 rebounds.
Lorenzo Mata, South Gate: Had 18 points, 18 rebounds and eight blocked shots in a 58-50 Eastern League victory at L.A. Roosevelt.
GIRLS’ BASKETBALL
Ashlee Trebilcock, Newhall Hart: Had 22 points, eight assists, five rebounds and four steals in a 58-37 Foothill League victory over visiting Saugus. The win gave No. 22 Hart (15-5, 5-0) a one-game lead over Saugus after the first round of league play.
Brittany Spears, Pasadena: Made a layup with two seconds left to give host Pasadena a 42-41 Pacific League victory over No. 17 Pasadena Muir. Spears scored seven points, all in the second half.
Teeya Kemp, Saugus Scott Academy: Had 47 points, 22 rebounds and five steals in three quarters of play in a 77-22 Delphic League victory against visiting L.A. Archer.
BOYS’ SOCCER
Andrew Modesti, Lake Forest El Toro: Scored on a rebound in the final minute of a 1-0 South Coast League victory at Mission Viejo. The win gave El Toro (14-2-4, 4-1) a one-point lead over two-time defending champion Dana Point Dana Hills after the first round of league play.
