Indians Win Again

CLEVELAND — Helped by Milton Bradley’s two-run double, Brian Anderson earned his first win in eight starts for the Cleveland Indians, who defeated the Chicago White Sox, 5-2, Monday to complete a three-game series sweep.

The White Sox dropped to 2-5 with six games left on their longest trip in 19 years.

The Indians (23-32) pulled to within 1 1/2 games of third-place Chicago in the Central Division after starting the season 7-20.

Bradley put Cleveland ahead, 3-2, by lining a two-run double high off the left-field wall against Bartolo Colon (5-5) in the sixth inning.

Anderson (3-5) gave up two runs and five hits in six innings and won for the first time since April 9. His last outing was two innings of hitless relief in a 5-2 victory in Detroit last Tuesday.

The Indians came from behind to win each game of the rain-shortened series and extend their season-high winning streak to five. It was their fourth series win in the last five; they’re 11-5 during the stretch.
