He’s been duped, but he’s not bitter

Matt Kennedy Gould says he feels like anything but a schmo -- even after learning he was duped as the unwitting star of Spike TV’s reality-show satire, “Joe Schmo.”
Gould, 28, a native of Mount Lebanon, Pa., a suburb of Pittsburgh, watched the show’s finale Tuesday night at Manhattan’s trendy Pressure NYC nightclub. He won $100,000, a trip to Tahiti and a flat-screen plasma television for being duped into believing he was a contestant on a reality show called “The Lap of Luxury.”
Gould says he doesn’t feel humiliated, even after learning that the other so-called contestants were actors in on the joke. He’s been scheduled for several guest appearances on TV talk shows.
