Three veteran college presidents -- from Washington, D.C., New Orleans and Denver -- are finalists for the presidency of San Jose State University.
The search for the finalists, two female and all white, by the California State University system was recently criticized for failing to include an Asian American. CSU spokeswoman Colleen Bentley-Adler defended the selection process, saying the pool of about 100 candidates considered was racially and ethnically diverse.
The three finalists will visit the campus the week of Nov. 9.
