Driver Dies in Collision With Tractor-Trailer

A 51-year-old Fillmore man was killed Friday after he lost control of his car on California 126, between Fillmore and Santa Paula, and slammed into a tractor-trailer, authorities said.
Richard Angel Ortega was pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:30 p.m. crash near Sycamore Road, the California Highway Patrol said.
Ortega had been driving west on the highway when his car crossed over the highway and hit the oncoming vehicle, authorities said.
Truck driver Michael Kelsey, 47, of Vista suffered minor injuries. He was treated at a local hospital and released.
The cause of the crash remained under investigation.
