Taking TV risks

“Skin” was many things, maybe even too many things, but one it was not, and that is formulaic pablum. No one knows what America will tune into, and current marketplace reality prevents networks from allowing series to build an audience. But to be sucker-punched in the grave for taking a creative risk -- shame on you, Carina Chocano (“From Great Hypes,” Nov. 12). It just proves hindsight isn’t always 20/20.
No one wants to be “Brilliant but Canceled” but, in my obviously biased opinion, that’s what “Skin” was.
