Police have released a sketch of a man they believe has committed at least eight home-invasion robberies since mid-October in the Fairfax, Hancock Park and Hollywood areas.
The robberies have all taken place between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m., most recently on Tuesday night in the Mid-Wilshire district.
In most of the incidents, the man has entered the homes through unlocked doors or windows, though in at least one case he smashed one, said Lt. Jim Grayson of the Los Angeles Police Department. The robber also confronted one victim in the driveway of his home.
The robber is described as about 5 feet 8, 180 pounds and 25 to 30 years old.
Residents should lock their doors and windows, turn on outside lights and activate home alarm systems, Grayson said.
