Airport Partially Shut Over Package

ATLANTA — A small area of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport was evacuated Wednesday for about two hours after a suspicious package was found in a men’s restroom.
The FBI said the package contained a device similar to a military trip flare containing a highly flammable substance and could have caused serious injury to anyone handling it. A trip flare is a device that may be used to signal when an enemy is approaching.
A janitor found the package, which was described as being wrapped in duct tape and having suspicious components protruding from it.
The FBI and the Transportation Security Administration were called in, and a police robot removed the object.
