Memorial Service for Playwright Lawrence Is May 3

A public memorial service for Jerome Lawrence, who wrote the Broadway hits “Inherit the Wind” and “Auntie Mame” with longtime collaborator Robert E. Lee, will be held at 7:30 p.m. May 3 at the Mark Taper Forum, 135 N. Grand Ave., Los Angeles. A reception will be held afterward. Lawrence died Feb. 29 at his home in Malibu at age 88.
