Herd of Goats to Help Graze Away Fire Fuel

From Times Wire Reports
A local neighborhood is testing a new team of fire prevention specialists willing to work for food: a herd of goats.
Forty Boer goats were released Thursday onto a hillside in the Tierrasanta neighborhood, which was hit by last fall’s wildfires, to nibble up brush that could fuel blazes.
The Tierrasanta Maintenance Assessment District is trying out the goats as a pilot project near Mission Trails Regional Park. The district estimates that the goats can clear as much land as a work crew at less than half the cost.
