The results of an investigation into the beating of a suspected car thief by a Los Angeles police officer were turned over Friday to prosecutors, LAPD Chief William J. Bratton said.
Bratton declined to discuss the investigation into the June 23 incident, in which an officer struck 36-year-old Stanley Miller 11 times with a flashlight. The incident was caught on videotape and broadcast nationwide.
Bratton said the department made no recommendations to prosecutors on how to proceed.
