Inglewood police shot and killed a suspect in a double homicide after he allegedly tried to run down officers with his vehicle in a motel parking lot, authorities said Sunday.
Officers were at a Motel 6 on Century Boulevard to help Ventura County sheriff’s deputies, who had been trying to arrest the suspect when the incident occurred about 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police said the man, whose identify was not released Sunday, was in his vehicle when he spotted the approaching officers. They said he tried to run over them, so several of them fired at him.
He was taken to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.
Authorities had no further information on the Ventura County slayings.
