Teen to Stand Trial in Abortion Clinic Shooting

The 17-year-old who allegedly shot his girlfriend as she sat in a Palm Desert abortion clinic waiting room in April will stand trial in Riverside County Superior Court for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon.
At the Tuesday preliminary hearing for Jeffrey Cameron Fitzhenry, prosecutor Traci Carrillo said that the girl, who was shot twice, is now a quadriplegic.
Witnesses said Fitzhenry was upset with the girl’s decision to have an abortion, and by her claim that he was not the father.
The district attorney’s office declined to say whether the fetus survived.
