A 120-acre brush fire in the Los Padres National Forest north of Ojai was expected to be fully contained late Thursday, authorities said.
The fire started about 3 p.m. Wednesday in Lockwood Valley, damaging four structures on Boy Scout Camp Road, authorities said. No injuries were reported.
Although evacuations were recommended immediately after the fire erupted, residents in the sparsely populated area were allowed to return home Wednesday night, said Forest Service spokesman Joe Pasinato.
More than 400 firefighters from the Forest Service and the Ventura County Fire Department battled the blaze, authorities said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
