Liberals Urge Boycott of Presidential Vote

A group of prominent Russian liberals denounced the upcoming presidential election as a farce and urged voters and opposition candidates to boycott.
The lack of a realistic challenger to President Vladimir V. Putin in effect has turned the March 14 vote into a referendum on his rule, and the Kremlin’s main concern now is low turnout. At least 50% of Russia’s eligible voters must cast ballots to make the election valid.
