RealNetworks Sues Major League Baseball
RealNetworks Inc., which sells Internet audio and video software, sued Major League Baseball to enforce a contract that makes broadcasts of baseball games available to users of its RealPlayer software.
RealNetworks was the exclusive provider of software for viewing the league’s games over the Internet during the last three years until a contract expired last month. The company is seeking an order in Seattle to enforce a new contract that makes RealPlayer software one option for downloading games.
A spokesman for Major League Baseball could not be reached for comment.
