Two 17-year-old boys from Bloomington High School were arrested on suspicion of the rape Saturday of a 15-year-old female classmate, the latest in what has become a string of violent acts involving students at the school.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, saying the rape appeared to be racially motivated, issued an advisory to parents Wednesday regarding racial tensions at the school. Detectives at the sheriff’s Fontana station wrote, “In addition to numerous after-school fights, there has been a murder, shootings and at least two other rapes involving Bloomington students.”
The detectives said they believe there may be unreported crimes and urged those with knowledge of crimes to contact the Sheriff’s Department at (909) 356-6767.
