Speeding Driver Blamed in Crash That Killed Girl

A driver who lost control of his speeding car caused the accident that killed a 14-year-old passenger and injured three others Saturday, officials said Thursday.
Although traces of drugs and alcohol were found at the crash site, police said, tests on James Ericsson, 18, proved negative. The investigation revealed that Ericsson was driving 85 mph in a 45-mph zone.
Brianna Moore of Mission Viejo was killed when the car crashed into a tree on Niguel Road near Marina Hills Drive.
