Serkin replaces Barenboim

Because of a back injury, pianist Daniel Barenboim has canceled his Oct. 18 recital at the Walt Disney Concert Hall. Pianist Peter Serkin will appear instead, playing works by Bach, Mozart and other composers.

Earlier this month, back injuries led Barenboim to cancel conducting the first four performances of the Chicago Symphony, where he is music director.
