Chicago-based Higgins Development Partners opened an office in Newport Beach with the intention of investing $100 million in Southern California commercial real estate over the next five years.
The company expects to develop both speculative and build-to-suit projects with its partner Pritzker Realty Group, said Nader Shah, manager of the new office. Planned projects include offices and warehouse-distribution facilities for the region’s biotech sector. Other target tenants are public-private partnerships and universities.
Shah is a former development partner at Koll Development Corp. and was most recently head of the Dana Point Harbor Revitalization Project for Orange County.
