Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. said it was seeking a buyer for a U.S. and Canadian consumer-products business that includes the Excedrin headache medicine and Keri moisturizers.
Prospective buyers will be contacted in coming weeks, the New York-based drug maker said.
Spokesman Brian Henry declined to name the organizations Bristol-Myers will approach and said negotiations hadn’t started.
The company hired Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to help with the sale, Henry said.
Shares of Bristol-Myers rose 6 cents to $24.66 on the New York Stock Exchange.
