Tribune Profit Falls 36% on Job, Newsprint Costs

Tribune Co. said fourth-quarter profit fell 36% on costs to cut jobs and higher newsprint prices.
Net income dropped to $216.8 million, or 67 cents a share, from $338.4 million, or $1, a year earlier, the company said. Sales rose 1% to $1.48 billion.
Tribune shares rose 62 cents to $39.63 on the NYSE.
