Way out West

Someone just sent me Reed Johnson’s article on “Bandidas,” a film I wrote with my frequent collaborator, Luc Besson [“Double-Barreled Firepower,” Jan. 23]. I thought Johnson might like to know who the “co-written” was in the equation. The big joke on most of the films we do is that I am the only person whose first language is the language we are filming in -- English.
I enjoyed Johnson’s article immensely. I thought he really captured the essence of what the film is all about. The choice of directors was a real stroke, as Europeans who have grown up on our westerns come to them with a unique perspective.
